Bank’s Bus. Dev. Director Wins Sales & Marketer of the Year

Ken Burnett, vice president / director of business development and training at Bank of American Fork, was named one of the state’s Sales and Marketers of the Year in the January issue of Utah Business magazine. Burnett was recognized for leading a team of business development officers that have contributed to the bank’s continued success during the recession, including increasing loans, deposits and new customers.

“Ken took over the business development department just a year ago and has already made major improvements,” said Richard Beard, president and CEO of Bank of American Fork. “He has aligned his team’s incentives with the goals of the bank, resulting in new business during a time when many banks were losing business.  Thanks to Ken and his team, many Utahns have learned what makes community banking a better option for their business.”

“I’m truly honored to receive the SAMY award, but accept it only on behalf of the wonderful team that supports me,” said Burnett. “I have the best sales team in the industry that has helped me and the Bank achieve outstanding results, even during an economic downturn.”

In addition to serving as the director of business development, Burnett also heads Bank of American Fork’s training department. He has previously served as director of the retirement planning group at Fidelity Investments, where he changed its focus from a service-only team to a sales/service team.  Burnett held a number of other management positions in sales and training during his 17-year tenure at Fidelity.

Burnett and other award recipients will be honored at a ceremony at the Grand America hotel on Jan. 27, 2012.
