In a presentation today at the Saratoga Springs library, Bank of American Fork president and CEO Richard Beard presented a check for $21,000 to Library Director Sue Alexander and Library Board Chairman Larry Whiting. The money will be used to help with the year-old library’s expansion.
Bank of American Fork has been an ardent supporter of the Saratoga Springs Library since it was just an idea a few years ago. At the library’s grand opening in March 2011, Bank of American Fork presented a check for $30,000 to the library, matching donations raised by the community. This most recent donation comes in time for the library’s one-year birthday.
“Bank of American Fork is so pleased to continue its support of this important community gathering place and educational resource,” said Beard. “Residents of Saratoga Springs have shown their support for Bank of American Fork by depositing money at our institution during an economically difficult time, so it is only fitting that we give back to the community that has given so much to us. Both the library and our bank are community members that will grow together as Saratoga Springs expands. We look forward to the future growth of the library and are proud to play a role in it.”
The presentation was held as the closing event to a weeklong celebration on behalf of the library. The event was attended by state librarians, Saratoga Springs city council member Jim Miller, city manager Mark Christensen and other local dignitaries.
