CEObuilder event next week: Putting a price on the cost of not knowing your costs

CEObuilder and Bank of American Fork invite you to join us on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 for a forum and presentation by John Briggs, CPA and partner at Lunsford Peck and Bryant Armstrong, CPA and partner at Squire and Company. Briggs’ and Armstrong’s presentations and the forum will focus on cost accounting versus price accounting. You can also join the conversation on Twitter at #ceobuilder or LinkedIn.

It’s human nature to take the path of least resistance—and, for many, that is certainly true when it comes to accounting and finance. For many, these are “necessary evils,” rather than essential tools, in the managerial and leadership toolbox. Because of that, understanding the true cost of products or services your company provides is often overlooked.

One obstacle is that cost accounting is not an easy task.  In this presentation, Briggs and Armstrong will talk about companies that sidestepped this critical task and the consequences of that choice. They will clarify the benefits of cost accounting and why having a strong understanding of product cost leads to better pricing decisions and stronger negotiation with suppliers and customers—and a better night’s sleep. The part you will be most excited about: Briggs and Armstrong will present ways to simplify the complicated process of cost accounting.

Participants will leave with a better understanding of why cost accounting is an essential managerial tool and know how to begin or improve the process of cost accounting in their respective companies.

This forum will be held at Bank of American Fork, Riverton Branch Conference Room, 2691 West 12600 South, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21. Please RSVP by contacting Heidi at or 801-642-3139.
